FESSing Up!
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)
Immediately after my fibroid embolisation last year, my low immunity allowed another unknown bodily issue to rear its ugly head. I’ve had nearly a year of struggles with blocked nose, an inability to breathe and smell loss. After many trips to the doctor, then to the Ear Nose and Throat specialist, then CT scans I final found out that I required Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) where they basically hoover out the infection in your sinuses and recreate the airways. As with everything, the surgery comes with risks namely damage to the eyes and brain, but you can’t focus any attention on those things. It’s all about the positivity. Thankfully I managed to grab a cancellation slot a week after finding out I required the surgery, one week wait on the NHS aint ‘alf bad!!
So this is me after my day surgery. Despite my cute curls, this I’m afraid is the look for the next couple of days while the fluids drain off. I have more pain in my throat from the tubes they stuck down it whilst I was under general anaesthetic, than I have in my nose. But my nose is totally blocked up, it was stuffed with disposable packing as part of the surgery. I’m just looking forward to being able to breathe and smell again :-)

Probably won’t work for shoes but you know I’ll be hunting down the RIGHT CLOTH and SHOES for the job now :-) I’m still looking for the perfect outfit to make out of this though…
Wow… I have the material (Hen brought it for me from Ghana) and now the ideas are coming forth thanks to Daghanianchiq… was thinking a dress or jumpsuit but these shoes… oh my!!!
